A Robust Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Controller for Variable Speed Wind Turbines Based on a Doubly Fed Induction Generator

This paper presents an implementation of a new robust control strategy based on interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller (IT2-FLC) applied to the wind energy conversion system (WECS). The generator used was variable speed turbine doubly fed induction (DFIG). Fuzzy concepts have been with great success in many applications worldwide. So far, vast majority systems type-1 controllers. However, T1-FLC cannot handle high level uncertainty (complex and non-linear systems). amount could be reduced by using since it offers better capabilities linguistic uncertainties modeling vagueness unreliability information. A concept (IT-2 FLC) developed because its management capabilities. Both these strategies were designed their performances compared for purpose showing most efficient terms reference tracking robustness. We made comparison between performance (T1-FLC) (IT2-FLC). simulation results clearly manifest height robustness rise time, settling overshoot value. simulations realized MATLAB/Simulink software.
